Dates to Remember

The date for the preliminary exam is scheduled in June 2017 and the results will be declared in July itself. The main exam will be held in the fourth week of July 2017, the results of which will be declared in the second week of August 2017.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this position, candidates should either have a graduation degree or a degree in any discipline from recognized university or an equivalent qualification. As on April 1, 2017, candidates should be between the age limit 21-30 years. There is also a relaxation in the upper age limit for reserved categories.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates have to apply online for this exam. Application forms will be available from the first week of May 2017 until the end of the month. The application fee for general category is Rs. 600 and for SC/ ST/ PWD is Rs. 100 which can be paid through online mode and is non- refundable.

Examination Pattern

The selection procedure for SBI PO 2017 is as follows: Preliminary Examination, clearing which the candidate is eligible for the Main Examination. Aspirants who clear the prelims and mains exam will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. SBI will decide the qualifying marks in group discussion and interview. Candidates who qualify for the GD round and Interview under the ‘OBC’ category will have to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non- Creamy Layer’ clause.

A minimum cut-off score will be decided by the SBI to short- list the deserving candidate and will then be called for the Interview. The final allotment will be made depending on the merit, medical fitness, the number of vacancies and fulfilment of eligibility conditions.Selected candidates will be issued appointment letters for the post of SBI PO for various branches of the bank. These probationary officers will be on probation for two years for intensive training.
